Symbols represent categories, elements, or characters, and many carry multiple meanings across different cultures and historical contexts. Similar to the variety of emojis we use today, there are numerous symbols associated with modern-day witches, wizards, angels, and aliens.

Witchy Symbols are spiritual, sacred, and historic. In the spirit of Halloween, I am using the word Witchy in the most positive light, inspired by one of my favorite Hallmark movie and TV series, The Good Witch.

These symbols also serve as an introduction to the various symbols found in tarot card readings. Seen from the image, a card often has zodiac signs, planets, numbers, runes, and elements. The circle in the top right outlines the astrological houses with runes etched in rocks tossed like lithomancy. Each reading is open to interpretation, allowing the reader and the listener to gain insight into current feelings while setting positive intentions for the future.

The Zodiac Signs

Zodiac signs are frequently referenced in pop culture, horoscopes, and tarot readings, as well as in Chinese and Japanese astrology.

The symbols for the elements are also known as Alchemical Elements. Here are some ways to remember each symbol: air can be represented by a cloud passing over a mountain, earth by digging into the ground, fire is like a campfire, and water is like a cup of water.
