New Moon Ritual
A New Moon means the moon is not visible in the night sky. This is a good time to start a ritual that pays gratitude for where you’ve been and setting new goals for the future.
Create an ambiance for yourself by setting up your space to cultivate an evening of comfort, grounding, and peace. Some suggestions include decluttering, cleaning, and saging the space of stagnant energy.
This is a good time to meditate on your health and wellness. Pay attention to your center of gravity, perhaps by sitting on the floor, doing some relaxing yoga, or finding a comfortable seat.
I like to sit slightly elevated and let my hands fall where it feels natural, close my eyes, and breathe gently. Each breath slowly became deeper and more relaxed, and every once in a while I enjoyed some refreshing sighs of relief.
In my journal, I mostly wrote about appreciation for my body and noticing some personal progress in my mental, emotional, and physical health.
I set the intention to pay closer attention to the moon phases and notice how that may affect me. Some goals to set for yourself can be habits, manifestations, relationships, or destinations.
A New Moon Ritual can be as elaborate as you want or as quick as some bullet points on a post-it. I like to keep it as simple and fresh as the new moon itself.
